I've Found A Friend Who Died For Me

Well its been awhile since i shared a joke, and since today was nothing special, i decided to share it =P As you know, the Americans are the ones who won then cold war, here's a version of the war in terms of Dogfighting:

America vs. Russia
The Americans and Russians, at the height of the arms race, realized that if they continued in the usual manner they were going to blow up the whole world. One day they sat down and decided to settle the whole dispute with one dog fight. They'd have five years to breed the best fighting dog in the world and whichever side's dog won would be entitled to dominate the world. The losing side would have to lay down its arms.

The Russians found the biggest, meanest Doberman and Rottweiler ------- in the world and bred them with the biggest meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the biggest and strongest puppy from each litter, killed his siblings, and gave him all the milk. They used steroids and trainers and after five years came up with the biggest meanest dog the world had ever seen. Its cage needed steel bars that were three inches thick and nobody could get near it.

When the day came for the fight, the Americans showed up with a strange animal. It was a nine-foot long Dachshund. Everyone felt sorry for the Americans because they knew there was no way that this dog could possibly last ten seconds with the Russian dog.

When the cages were opened up, the Dachshund came out and wrapped itself around the outside of the ring. It had the Russian dog almost completely surrounded. When the Russian dog leaned over to bite the Dachshund's neck, the Dachshund reached out and consumed the Russian dog in one bite. There was nothing left at the entire Russian dog.

The Russians came up to the Americans, shaking their heads in disbelief. `We don't understand how this could have happened. We had our best people working for five years with the meanest Doberman and Rottweiler ------- in the world and the biggest, meanest Siberian wolves."

"That's nothing," an American replied. "We had our best plastic surgeons working for five years to make an alligator look like a Dachshund."

Alright, back to just plain blogging,
Today, nothing new, school and science research, but at least the afternoon was quite 'enjoyable', Van and Ben came to my house for a study session, and as usual, for a new guest to my house i would normally give a tour of the area, like i said, my house is far from the school, but the enviroment is nice =P
Did finish my chemistry, and well we ended up talking about school, classmates and past events that happened as Van, who just transfered in mid-last year, wanted to know more about the class... talked for at least 1hr i guess, at least we got to know about each others problems we faced and opinion on our classmates..... Well, it was quite interesting to know how others feel about you and to get some load off my back. Friendship is a wonderful thing, tresure it while you can.......

Today got my first common test, A-MATHS....
The test quite difficult but since we spent our whole day doing A-maths questions, I am able to do all questions for the test... I Hope I will be able to score well................................

Finally its the 50th POST!! after 5 long months..... Thank you all my blog readers who kept the blog alive even though i didnt have the time to continuiously blog..... so a big THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Yoz, I am back from camp! =P
Camp has its ups and downs, but overall it was kind of fun, despite the lack of sleep....

Day 1 – Tuesday, 17/02
Well I don’t know how to describe myself on this day, kinda having mixed feelings – Happy and excited but had the feeling of not wanting to go to the camp..... So went to school as usual, but this time we were “VIPs” getting to assemble in the school hall instead of the parade square for morning assembly.... and what’s better, don’t need to sing the National Anthem... Haha YAY!! So we head off to camp by bus, it was a 45mins ride, we then reached the camp site – MOE Dairy Farm Adventure Camp, being the first to reach, we assembled in the Fire Access Area aka FAA, waiting for the other class.... The sun being hot, I took out my umbrella to shade myself, and then some idiot from 3B came and snatched my umbrella away, WHAT A DICK..... so well told teacher and finally got back my umbrella..... When all the other classes came, we got a briefing and dorm allocations.... My class got pared with 3D, I was nervous at first, but well.... Being a kind soul *Cough* I gave them a chance =P..... We unpacked and were told to meet in the canteen to meet our instructors – Rui He and Adlin!! Those guys are way cool.... Adlin very enthusiastic, while Rui He is just plain cool..... Our class was, like every other class, split into two groups, 15 and 16, I was in group 15 =P GOOOO 15!!! We went to a dorm for some icebreaker games, I was appointed IC till lunch which was like 40mins only lol.... We made out group “Flag” which was the biggest and most obvious one.... Ohya I almost forgot, my group name is WALL-E... Then we went to lunch, the food sucks for all the days so I don’t see a point naming them here lol..... Then we went to get our day pack and prepared for our 4 hour guided tour of Bukit Temah.... our guide was Mr Tan, quite a cool old man if I must say, BUT, he talks a lot.... we saw a lot of interesting plants and a lot of mosquitoes.... My form teacher and Co-form teacher, Miss Ng and Mrs Johari, followed us to the quarry only, but hey at least they followed.... The quarry was Beautiful.... cant believe that you can see something like that in Singapore.... Sooo Cool...... We were also able to eat some wild plants under Mr Tan guidance... I ate only 1 plant, the sweet one of course =P..... then we continued walking... so after 4 hours, we went back to the camp site and have our campfire preparation, which is a cheer by Adlin... It goes like:

Haha I know its lame but its kinda fun =P, after that was dinner we had a song singing session then NIGHT WALK.... which was very scary at first, but in the walk was okay, but Mr Lim who as nothing better to do came out and scare us lol..... after the night walk we had a supper and debrief then shower time..... and of course bedtime which was at 12.30am, me, Kiran and Van squeezed in 1 corner which Is about 2 sleeping bag size.... lol.... Didnt had a comforting sleep but hey at least I got some sleep despite the noise by 3D...

Day 2 – Wednesday, 18/02
Woke up at 5.30am washed up and assembled at FAA, where we had flag raising, seriously, who have flag raising during a camp?? Plus there wasn’t any music so we had to sing it solo.... After that, we had Breakfast!! Still sucky though, then we had some team-building games, I love the rope jumping one, the most fun of all the games.... Just like the church camp lol.... but this time, I am able to do it lol..... But I screwed the one with the most people cos I entered too slow, and well, got a scolding of course...... We did many cheers also... after the team building games, we had LUNCH, at least the food was a little better, ate quite a lot because after that was Dragon Boating, which needs a lot of energy... I think I ate 4 bananas during lunch lol.... So we took a bus to Kallang River for the activity, slept during the bus so when I woke up, was very tired..... it was fun accept, my group came in 4th because Yun Tao didn’t paddle at all.... Our team out ran most of the other boats who wanted to splash us during the practise..... Maybe that is the reason that we lost. O,o.. when we were parking the boat, Gavin and I splashed everyone in the front and well, Gavin got splashed by a pill of seawater by the Girls of course =P..... Since we did not win, we didn’t hat a chance to shower at the Dragon Boating Association so we had to take a shower when we got back..... Slept in the bus again =P.... After the shower was Dinner, then the forum, with our host Mr Goh and the VIP Auntie Tang the Principle that works in NTUC part-time because she came in the NTUC uniform lol... The questions asked were a little difficult as Miss Raniy wrote them, and the panel of the Principal, Vice-Principal, HODs.... were like WTF??? Some of them took quite a while to answer them.... So I called that activity as “Make the teachers Pai Sei” night =P..... We then had debrief and supper again.... then wash-up and bedtime again, 11.15 eariler ^^.... this time didn’t slept that well as some people tried to take alot of space and I didn’t had enough leg room.... what a waste.....

Day 3 – Thursday, 19/02
Exciting it is the last night of camp! Woke up at 5.45am as usual, went to wash up and flag raising, then we had breakfast, Miss Ng came, then the most fun of all activities, THE HIGH ELEMENTS, I was a little afraid, but still able to do all of the challenges =P Yay me!! First was the Challenge Rope Course, man the helmet stink like shit.... I did the balancing log one, which was quite scary, but easily done, I wanted to do the other part but there wasn’t enough time..... then it was the challenge pole, which objective was to climb up to a high platform and jump to grab a trapeze bar and do a pull up lol... I went up pretty quickly because I was nervous and I wanted Miss Ng to try so our class must finish first =P. At the top, I looked down and freaked out so I immediately jumped and grabbed the pole, doing 1 pull up! Then releasing the rope.... When the class finished, we gathered round and persuaded Miss Ng to go. “MISS NG MISS NG!!” then Mr Teo went up and did 3 pull ups to show Miss Ng that it was easy, So in the end, she went up saying “100% Pass for Maths and 70% Distinctions” haha she climbed up and freaked out because she was scared of heights, like me, and jump but she missed the bar so we told her that she had to grab the bar in order for us to fulfil the promise, and the instructor tighten the rope not letting her out, so having no choice, she had to go up again, this time touched the rope but, still didn’t grabbed it so sorry Miss Ng, our promise can only be half fulfilled... then it was the flying fox and Abs Sailing, the flying fox had a lot of people, so I went for the Abs Sailing, which is like the commando climbing down the wall, and the freaking tower is 5 stories high! After my group finished, Miss Ng did the flying fox... so cool right? After that was lunch, then it was the tele-match, which is a inter-group competition. my class was ended up with a draw... Then we continued with the campfire preparation, this time we added a song after the cheer, the song we added was ’Stand By Me’. Then we took a shower, then dinner. Some pre-campfire cheers and then, DRUMROLL, the campfire itself! This Time Auntie Tang came in a blue shirt so we said that she came back from Sheng Shiong, haha..... All the classes performance was not bad, I loved the 3E performance, theirs to me is the best! My class one..... THE BEST.... Haha..... after everyone performed the teachers and parents were called to perform.... and as usual, we shouted MISS NG!!!! Haha.... then Auntie Tang gave a speech, after that the FINAL DEBRIEF and LAST SUPPER..... sad..... and Good Bye to Adlin as she got a camp the next day..... went back to the dorm and took a shower, brushed teeth, then when I was about to sleep, 2 trainers and Miss Tay came in and shouted us to get out of the dorm as it was a bag check.... WTF? What did we do to get into this trouble, bunking with the wrong people, we got raided because there was suspicion of someone smoking... and what’s worse is that all the pupils who would normally smoke were laughing at us! So after the bag check, Mr Soh gave a speech and apologised to our class on behalf on 3D so we were like wow! FORGAVE them.... Slept the best among all three nights! Most space and less noise.... But one of my classmates got toothpaste on his face.... Haha....

Day 4 – Friday, 20/02
The last day..... Well, it’s been fun, It’s been real, But it’s hasn’t been real fun..... Gonna miss my trainers, Rui He and Adlin...... woke up, washed up, flag raising and breakfast like the days before.... then we assembled in the FAA and started area cleaning.... luckily our group didn’t have to clean the toilets and dorms...... we were in charge of overall cleaning, we were told to kick the litter to the dorms so that other groups would clean it =P.... then we got FINAL FINAL DEBRIEF by Rui He only, then Prize Presentation, our class and 3D won =P.... Then back to school.....

Well, is school? stress? fun? Well i really dont know.....

School is of course fun with such great classmates and teachers but not all of them are really that fun, some students are just.... er... well, "out of this world" retarded.... Some of them are just plain fun, but alittle sick... =P Most of our class teachers are really cool, but some teachers *NOT FROM MY CLASS* are just... Retarded and Hypocrites..... Some teachers like to shout and act like they own the school by shouting at our class for no apparent reasons... But if we are noisy, giving her an excuse to shout as us, still give her almost NO RIGHTS to scold us, let me ask you this, HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR CLASS NOT IN/BEFORE YOUR LESSONS??? Seriously? The noise is not also directly outside your class, NO DISRACTIONS, just close the fucking door lah..... Retarded.....

The stress is kinda enjoyable, but sometimes, overwhelming.... My class most of the students are really competitive but that the fun of it, most of the top students are good in all subjects but only the BEST in only a particular subject.. Sadly I am the best in only Chemistry and sometimes Physics... Got to work harder this year....

Fun is of course FUN! Who doesnt enjoy alittle fun in their lives? Had a great time this week, of Wednesday, i came back from tution seeing JJ and Sharul in my house... Slacked with them.... Disturbed some people.... =P Friday they came again , but this time Gavin tag along too, for a swim... then ate dinner, sent Gavin off... Took a bus to Downtown East for some Chalet, ate and slacked some more... Took a taxi home cause JJ needs to reach home fast.... Details will be kept private =P

My teacher wrote this on forgiveness and its really meaningful and I thought i should share it:

Frankly, this is one of the most difficult topics to share on.
I am sure it is not difficult for anyone to understand why.

Who among us can claim that we have never been hurt by others?
That person would be a liar.

Yet, why should we forgive others?
My reply is: Why not?

There are many reasons why I chose not to forgive those who hurt me.These include:
1. I had been hurt unfairly.
2. Justice meant that those who hurt me must suffer for their sins.
3. Those who hurt me did not ask for my forgiveness.

There are good reasons to forgive now.

1. "I had been hurt unfairly."
Have I not hurt anyone in my life?
Have I not hurt He who loves me most?
Can I effectively measure the hurt I suffered and the hurt others suffered because of me, and say that I am the lesser of sinners?

We can only conclude that this society is not God's original design, and we are still suffering the effects of sin.All the more, we cry, "Come, Lord Jesus. Come."

2. "Justice meant that those who hurt me must suffer for their sins."
I still believe in this, but vengeance is the Lord's.
He will decide when and where the vengeance will come.
Am I God, that I should think myself above the judgement of Christ?
Am I all-knowing, that I should trust myself the best judge of what and when is the appropriate punishment?
Did I really understand the message of the Lord?
How do I demonstrate Christ-likeness by holding on to the pain?

3. "Those who hurt me did not ask for my forgiveness."
When Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive his brother, I always thought that this passage meant that I must forgive those who ask.
However, I also believed that those who did not ask need not be forgiven.
At the same time, I could not reconcile this view with the prayer both Jesus and Stephen said at their deaths, that the Father would forgive them, for they did not know what they were doing.

Aren't we all "not knowing"?
If we truly understood how our words and actions would hurt others, would we still have done so?

If we would, we truly deserved to be condemned.If we ever had or have any regrets, doesn't it show that we "did not know"?
How can we trust that we hurt others without intending it, and yet, others hurt us with malice?
How deceptive the heart is!
How self-righteous we are!

I always said that we should know what kind of person God is first, before we can understand why He gave certain commandments, and in this case, the same principle can apply.

If we can believe that God is both just and merciful, we would understand some things:
1. The need for final judgement on Judgement Day
2. The call to be merciful
3. The use for His commandments

1. As God is just, He would not tolerate evil forever.
One day, all shall be made accountable for their thoughts, words and deeds.
Why then is He "delaying" judgement?
Why does He place such a premium on free will?
Isn't it because of His mercy and sense of justice at the same time?

2. As God is merciful, He demonstrates His patience with us, who are saved.
His will is that none shall perish, but this may not be the will of men.
This long-suffering God reaches out to us first, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
All we wise enough to call for judgement now?
In this culture of instant gratification, have we forgotten what we have received freely from the Lord?
As we freely receive His grace, freely we shall give.

3. I believe that all commandments are given for our benefit.
We do not commit murder, because this would bring fear, anger and hatred into our midst.
We forgive, because we can be truly free.
Those who hurt us, may never realise that they did evil in the sight of the Lord, and woe be to them when they fall into God's hand of judgement.
However, there could also be some who are sorry, but lack the courage to apologise.
They may have found their peace with the Lord, but we, for the lack of forgiveness, are still holding on to the pain.It is worth our while to forgive.

Let us try to live lives truly worth living!
How do we forgive?
How did we become Christians?
The answer is the same: by choice.Choose to forgive.

I lie, if I say that forgiving others is an easy choice.
May the Lord walk with us, as we choose to forgive others everyday.
May He complete our insufficiency.
